The upper end of the left-handed reliever market is quite strong this offseason. If your team needs a reliable lefty who can do more than challenge left-handed batters, this is a good offseason to fill that need. DiamondCentric has released its top 75 (and growing) free-agent rankings, and here are the top seven right-handers who can help build a shutdown bullpen.

LHP Padres Age: 28 2026 bWAR: 1.9 Career bWAR: 5.2
Morejon has been perhaps the most dominant lefty setup man over the last three seasons. Big fastball, lots and lots of strikeouts (107 K/28 BB over 86 IP in 2026). Since 2024, Morejon has a 2.58 ERA/2.46 FIP over 223.1 IP. Mason Miller blocked him from closing in San Diego. Should get an opportunity to work the ninth moving forward if he wants it. The under-the-hood numbers back this up; not only does he cause swing-and-misses at a stupid-high rate, when hitters do make contact the impact isn’t much, and it’s mostly on the ground. There’s also a chance a team signs him to start. Regardless of role, this kid is an absolute demon somehow still on the right side of thirty.
    G: 76 GS: 0 IP: 86.0 SV: 3 HR: 4 BB: 28 SO: 107 ERA: 2.83 FIP: 2.37
LHP Dodgers Age: 31 2026 bWAR: 1.5 Career bWAR: 5.7
As solid a lefty leverage reliever as you can ask for. Since 2021, Vesia has a 2.66 ERA over 328 IP. He's averaged 80 K/27 BB over 60.2 IP with a 3.35 FIP in that period. That'll play for any team.
    G: 72 GS: 0 IP: 58.0 SV: 3 HR: 4 BB: 32 SO: 74 ERA: 2.64 FIP: 3.10
LHP Reds Age: 30 2026 bWAR: 1.3 Career bWAR: 4.4
The last two seasons for Burke have been quietly excellent. The 2014 third-round pick led the NL in appearances with 77 and posted a 2.30 ERA over 74.1 innings with 74 K/40 BB and a WHIP of 1.265. Limits hard contact with an arsenal built around his four-seam fastball and slider, working in a changeup and sinker at times.
    G: 77 GS: 0 IP: 74.1 SV: 2 HR: 5 BB: 40 SO: 74 ERA: 2.30 FIP: 3.76
LHP CardinalsBrewers Age: 30 2026 bWAR: 0.9 Career bWAR: 3.4
Pretty good lefty reliever who succeeds mostly by inducing ground balls with his sinker. As a result, JoJo’s FIP is always a bit higher than his ERA (3.36 in 2026). With the right team, this is a very useful setup man, but he needs a strong infield behind him to maximize his output.
    G: 55 GS: 0 IP: 56.1 SV: 0 HR: 7 BB: 18 SO: 54 ERA: 3.36 FIP: 3.97
LHP Astros Age: 35 2026 bWAR: 2.3 Career bWAR: 6.0
Great work out of the pen the last two seasons for Houston- 139.1 IP, 2.58 ERA, 2.99 FIP. He's averaged 16 BB/75 K over 70 IP per season in that time. Figuring out his command seems to have enabled him to take a sizable step forward. Legit late-inning option, though he's starting to get up there in age.
    G: 68 GS: 1 IP: 67.2 SV: 0 HR: 7 BB: 14 SO: 68 ERA: 2.13 FIP: 3.23
LHP White Sox Age: 34 2026 bWAR: 2.0 Career bWAR: 6.1
Pitched very well in a hybrid role that saw him start six games and save four games. Over 90.1 innings, the journeyman worked a 3.09 ERA (3.21 FIP) with 31 BB/84 K and a 1.185 WHIP. Upped his average fastball velocity from 93.3 MPH in 2025 to 94.9 MPH and utilized a slurve and sinker to induce groundballs and limit hard contact. Seems to have found his niche as a swingman.
    G: 60 GS: 6 IP: 90.1 SV: 4 HR: 4 BB: 34 SO: 84 ERA: 3.09 FIP: 3.21
LHP Padres Age: 31 2026 bWAR: 2.2 Career bWAR: 3.6
After treading water his first two MLB seasons, the 5'8” Matsui put together an outstanding 2026 that included a 1.83 ERA over 64 IP, 68 K/36 BB, and a 1.141 WHIP. Under the hood, things aren't quite as peachy. A 4.18 FIP to that minuscule ERA shows tremendous luck, and he walks far too many batters to be considered trustworthy in save situations. A good lefty option all the same, but not one that you build your entire pen to orbit around.
    G: 54 GS: 0 IP: 64.0 SV: 1 HR: 7 BB: 36 SO: 68 ERA: 1.83 FIP: 4.18
