    The WPBL has wrapped up the sixth and final week of their inaugural season. The New York Heights won both of their West Coast games sitting in a great position for the semifinals. Denae Benites & Kelsie Whitmore both end the season with 11 home runs in only 15 games. The semifinals will start this week and all four teams will compete for the championship round.

    Week five of the WPBL featured home run leaders Kelsie Whitmore & Denae Benites going deep. Andréanne Leblanc smacked out the first WPBL walk-off hit. San Francisco Firebells taking a comfortable lead in first place while the Boston Hunters buried themselves further in last place.

Marking the first time women have played in their own professional baseball league since 1954, the weekend features opening ceremonies by 99-year-old league pioneer Maybelle Blair.
