The downside to Milwaukee and TB in the World Series is that it provides cover for those who don’t want a salary cap because two smaller market teams are playing. Most of us think TB is realistically a smaller market. But the fact remains that teams like the Dodgers, Red Sox, and Yankees will always have a huge roster advantage because they have almost limitless resources to buy players. This has created an uneven playing field despite occasional successes by smaller markets. The NFL AND NBA concluded this years ago. Something has to change.
