  1. Okay, same thing as last time! If you have an account on our team site, those credentials should work here. If they don't, email me at brock.beauchamp@diamondcentric.net! Team sites: Twins Daily, Brewer Fanatic, North Side Baseball, Talk Sox, Jays Centre, Padres Mission, Royals Keep, Grand Central Mets
  2. I mean, it was a really nice throw. Tatis is fast, and the throw was spot on.
  3. I don't think it's quite that simple. If PCA is hot, he's probably the best centerfielder in baseball. But, like Buxton, he's prone to horrible stretches of play. But defensively, PCA is like 2017 Buxton so there's that.
  4. If good Severino is out there tonight, this game looks very different.
  5. I think DR is the better team, but Paul Skenes exists and is pitching. I think the US wins.
  6. Okay, if you're here from one of our team sites, your credentials to log in there SHOULD work here! If they don't, email me at brock.beauchamp@diamondcentric.net. We're gonna try this again, here's a centralized game thread!
  7. I think the Joe Ryan injury is part of what led to McLean starting that game.
  8. When PCA is playing well, he's unstoppable. The downside of PCA is that he goes through helpless streaks pretty regularly.
  9. Huh, an interesting side effect, one I had not considered. Noted.
  10. Nope! Twins, Brewers, Cubs, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Padres, Royals.
  11. We're trying a new thing this year, now that we have DiamondCentric as its own site. If you're not familiar with DC, it's the parent site of Twins Daily, Brewer Fanatic, North Side Baseball, Talk Sox, Padres Mission, and Royals Keep. If you have logins at any of our sites, those credentials work here! So when it comes to baseball-wide events, we're going to test out running the game thread in a centralized location (ie. here).
  12. The WBC is around the corner. Our friends at Fish On First put together this outstanding guide to the Classic. The ultimate fan guide to the World Baseball Classic - Miami Marlins Guides & Resources - Fish On First FISHONFIRST.COM Here is everything you need to know heading into the sixth edition of baseball's biggest international tournament.
  13. My understanding is that the fully automated system *really* slows down the game. It's probably going to take a few years of refinement to reduce the lag.
  14. That's weird, because both the Padres and Royals ALSO parted ways with Brent Rooker before he landed with the A's.
  15. Weird that it's agent-pushed, but was mostly developed by the Tampa Bay Rays. They were WAY ahead of the curve on framing, and then everyone else had to catch up.
  16. I mean, it's not BS. People constantly talk about pitch framing as "stealing strikes". That's half, maybe less, of pitch framing. Guys like Ryan Doumit lost TONS of strikes because they presented the ball so poorly to the umpire. Pitch framing is about getting as many strikes called as possible. Many of those are legitimate strikes that deserve to be called as such.
  17. A salary cap doesn't fix the problem. Revenue sharing fixes the problem. A salary cap doesn't change the fact that the Dodgers make $350m a season from TV revenue while their biggest competition in the division, the Padres, make $25m.
  18. Why aren't you placing ANY of this on the owners, though? They're the ones who literally set the ticket prices. And they still make money, just look at what the Dodgers are doing every offseason.
  19. Yeah, this sprung up with select users over the past 48 hours. I restarted the database server during the Super Bowl when traffic was low, and hopefully that has resolved the issue.
