  1. Why should a 24 yr old at high A be on our radar? Not being snarky, seriously wondering. That recipe has almost never worked.
  2. Thanks. "The biggest strength of FRV" is something that could be done with the others. For example, for OAA to be comparable across positions, it would only take converting the raw outs to a percentage. If I'm obviously wrong here, blame it on my skimming.
  3. wOBA is the best measure available of who's done best. It's not a great projection tool because it weighs on base quite a bit, which is important for major leaguers but misleading for minor leaguers. I mean, if winning minor league games is important, then it's a good measure of that. So, for example, Emmanuel Rodriguez, when healthy, has a toolkit to win minor league games. Unfortunately MLB pitchers do not throw with the same inaccuracy that minor leaguers do from rookie ball to AAA, so if taking a walk is the biggest reason for your minor league value, it bodes poorly. Kevin Youkilis is the only successful major leaguer I can think of who defeated this model with a very good career.
  4. He's trying to keep the Missouri rivalry. Obviously, KC is the more logical candidate. I don't think there's a rivalry worth keeping there. There is with the Twins/Brewers, though. 12 games is a big deal. and the Pohlads would demand it as the only way to get fans (Brewers fans) to come to games. KC and Denver are rivals due to football.
  5. It's always been the obvious play to move Col and TB to the other league. I don't really see what this does, though, for travel. To cure the perceived travel problem, they'd have to eliminated the leagues to go to west and east. Or assign a league to east or west. Your solution doesn't fit the premise, just the expansion. In one of my posts from maybe in the last year, I laid out the 8 divisions with expansion to each of Montreal, Nashville, SLC, and Portland. There wasn't a lot of difference from what you have, except you can't put Montreal in the South, so I think I left Pit in the NL Central and Cin in South. If both Montreal and Nashville were added, Nashville goes to AL South and Colorado to AL West. But none of this solves travel issues if you really want to make it better. There was also a scenario where Min and Mil were in same division. Then there's the solution where there are four divisions instead of eight, and Min and Mil are both in West divisions. The current western Central teams get screwed by this, but we're flyover country. AL West: Sea, LAA, LV, Hou, Tex, KC, Min, ChA NL West: SF, SD, LAD, Ari, Col, StL,Mil, ChN Any expansion team in west would go to the AL so that Stl, ChN, and Mil could stay together (and perhaps so Mtl could be in NL if it's chosen). White Sox would be the likely candidate to move east. For the Twins, this is as it used to be in the old AL West, unless they lose ChA to the east.
  6. LOL. Did you just copy my posts from the moment the Twins drafted him, changing the actual numbers to the current? Twins don't have a clue about what to look for in a hitter. The Dodgers wanted to get rid of Manuel Margot and traded Rayne Doncon to have the Twins take him on. They wanted a player back so it didn't look like they were just handing the Twins players, and the Twins must have realized by then Miller was useless. Another 1st round whiff which is now common for the Twins.
