Blue Jays ahead of the Phillies? (And Marlins and Tigers and Pirates, too?) It is silly. Rankings and opinions (and run differentials) mean squat compared to W-L records - the only “power” there is. Winning close games always matters more than padding stats with blowouts. That is real power. -
American League pitching staff deserved the MVP! Bellinger wins it, for a single single. Cheap. Only extra base hit all game was the Vargas homer. 9 singles and a homer.

And now Duran gives up a hit! If only the Twins had kept Varland and Duran. Still HATE those trades.

At least Ryan didn’t give up the only hit. Instead former teammate Varland and Ryan now both ruined the potential no-hitter. Minor detail….. both pitched well. Pretty amazing how futile the Nationals have been at the plate.
